Edinburgh City Centre Management Company

Edinburgh City Centre Management Company (ECCM) is leading on the development of the first BID in Edinburgh. Funding from the Scottish Executive, the City of Edinburgh Council and HBOS plc has been secured to assist in the development of the BID proposal.

ECCM is an independent, not-for-profit company with an over-arching objective to promote, develop and improve the city centre. It is governed by an independent board of directors and is funded by the City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian, private sector businesses and through income generation.

The company manages a range of activities including the multi-award winning weekly farmers’ market on Castle Terrace and the monthly fine food market on Castle Street. The company also ran the inaugural Edinburgh International Fashion Festival in 2006.

ECCM led the redevelopment of Castle Street and is currently involved in the project to open St Andrew Square Garden to the public for the first time.

Following completion of the garden project in 2008, ECCM will assume responsibility for management and maintenance of the space. The company's city centre wardens have been operating in a similar role in the Exchange business district on Lothian Road since 2003.
